01

Upstream programme design

Are we addressing the right problem?

Examine needs, assumptions and delivery conditions before committing to a solution. Build a programme logic that connects the intended change with what people can realistically do.

What is working, for whom, and why?

How I work

Rigorous thinking.
Practical collaboration.

Sometimes, what isn’t being said matters more than what is.

Listen for missing perspectives, unspoken assumptions and concerns that haven’t found space in the conversation.

Understand the context

Look at the relationships, constraints and assumptions shaping the work. Understand the perspectives of the people making decisions, carrying out the work and affected by it.

Make the work proportionate

Choose methods that fit the question, budget and capacity. Keep the purpose clear and the burden on participants manageable.

Build towards a decision

Translate findings into clear choices, usable recommendations and tools that teams can carry forward.

Professional experience

From the frontline
to the boardroom.

Experience from the frontline to the boardroom helps me understand both the pressures behind decisions and what it takes to put them into practice.

Connecting perspectives

Thirty years of being a square peg in round holes.

My career has crossed sectors, countries and conventional job boundaries. That experience has taught me to notice what established categories miss, and connect perspectives that usually sit apart.

Research design & delivery

I design research and carry it out.

From developing surveys and interview guides to conducting face-to-face interviews, facilitating workshops and turning findings into practical insight. My experience spans market research, community development and programme evaluation, including thousands of face-to-face interviews and dozens of facilitated workshops.

Meet the consultant

Kim Glick

I bring a systems perspective to practical programme challenges, with experience across frontline service delivery, face-to-face research, programme responsibilities and board-level governance.

I understand how a decision looks to the person making it, the person implementing it and the person affected by it. My work helps connect those perspectives, so organisations can ask better questions, use evidence well and develop workable responses.
